The castle is the headquarters of the Schloss Kaltenberg Group with its companies, Schloss Kaltenberg K\u00f6nigliche Holding and K\u00f6nig Ludwig International. The global patents and licensing agreements of the royal family are pooled at an organisational level under these umbrella companies.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">The neo-gothic castle, home to the brewery since 1871, is the place of origin of the royal speciality beers which are produced and sold under licensing agreements around the world under the brand names of Kaltenberg, K\u00f6nig Ludwig Weissbier and K\u00f6nig Ludwig Dunkel. These Bavarian speciality beers are brewed at Kaltenberg Castle right up to the present day. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"has-text-align-left\">During the past 30 years, the castle has gained international prominence thanks to the world\u2019s biggest jousting tournament, the Kaltenberger Ritterturnier. This takes place every year on three weekends in July in the castle\u2019s own arena which can seat more than ten thousand.
