To be appointed an official Royal Warrant Holder of the Royal Court of Bavaria was a particular honour and sign of recognition for traders and service providers. At that time, it was similar to being knighted and becoming a member of the nobility. The title vouched for optimum quality, which the supplier to the Royal Court of Bavaria was henceforth personally obliged to provide. The great honour of displaying the royal coat of arms on their shop frontages and on their letterheads was also bestowed on the warrant holder. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
This right was tied to a strict control of the supplier\u2019s quality and reputation and was only granted on a personal basis. The right lapsed if the supplier\u2019s company was sold or if the bearer of the title passed away. <\/p>\n<\/p>\n
That is why today only former Royal Warrant Holders of the Royal Court of Bavaria are existing, provided they are supplying products which are still rooted in the tradition conferred by the court title. The right to bear the Wittelsbach royal coat of arms requires the approval of the House of Wittelsbach.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
