Maximilian Schellerer painted the bare-headed royal couple for the high altar in the chapel dedicated to Christ the King in Wildenwart in 1934. Marie Therese und Ludwig III. knien im Ornat der Georgiritter demütig vor dem gekrönten Christus. The chapel, built by supporters of the monarchy, is also a symbol against the rise of national socialism.
